This classic Portland design features the infamous airport carpet. Made popular by the many travelers who look forward to being welcomed by the carpet when they travel through the airport of Portland, Oregon. The teal geometric pattern intentionally mirrors the runways from the PDX control tower. The original design (shown here) was originally installed in the '80s, but the popularity soared in the 2000s as social media came into daily use: Selfies, socks, tattoos, and even beer cans celebrated the design. When the design was later updated with the recent PDX remodel, Portlanders responded with surprising affection for the original carpet design.

The PDX carpet design became a recognizable symbol of how this city embraces the offbeat, the beloved, and the beautifully ordinary.

Furoshiki are traditional Japanese wrapping cloths, used for centuries to carry, wrap, and gift items with care. Reusable and beautifully crafted, they’re a perfect match for Portland’s eco-conscious spirit and those who appreciate low-waste, practical alternatives to disposable packaging. They’re also incredibly versatile: use one as a lunch carrier, bandana, or even a lightweight travel accessory.

This eco-wrap features a special dyeing technique that prevents uneven coloration – ensuring a smooth, vibrant finish that honors both craftsmanship and detail. Whether you’re sharing a meaningful souvenir or keeping a memento from your time in Portland, this furoshiki celebrates local PNW culture, sustainability, and everything delightfully weird.
